convenient access to parks and local landmarks
I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable queen room with a clean, minimalist look and an easy morning routine that involved grabbing coffee and a snack from the cozy lounge area, which made me feel at home. I also loved exploring the nearby Montrose Botanic Gardens, just a short walk away, and the charming Cimarron Song Gallery, which is less than a kilometer from where I stayed.

The Minecart Motor Lodge provided a cozy atmosphere with a clean, well-decorated room. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering local tips and assistance throughout our stay. I particularly enjoyed the unique mining decor and the common fire pit area that added a great touch for relaxation.
Some minor traffic noise due to the location.

Comfortable stay with friendly service
I had a lovely stay for a long weekend of hiking. The room was clean and cozy, featuring a queen-sized bed, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. The staff was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home, which I really appreciated. However, I did have an issue when I was charged for a stained towel I didn't stain, so keep an eye on your billing.

We loved our stay with the family! The outdoor seating area was cozy and perfect for evening chats. The location made it easy to explore the downtown scene, including restaurants and shops. The breakfast had a good selection, especially the fresh fruit!
My kids wished for a microwave in the room for snacks. It would have helped, especially with our large group.

Great spot with friendly vibes!
Just spent 2 nights here in a Queen Room. The decor is super nice since the place got remodeled, and breakfast was solid. The staff were always smiling and super helpful. Only bummer was the bugs we spotted in the bathroom. Def check out the picnic area for some chill time!

The room was charming but a bit cramped, and the bed had an annoying slant. The shower setup was awkward with no place for toiletries. Friendly staff helped make things right, but having to wait at check-in was frustrating. Overall, it had its quirks but was decent enough for a short stay.

I had a fantastic one-night stay at Minecart Motor Lodge. The location is perfect, just 20 minutes from the south entrance to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. I loved the newly remodeled room. it felt modern and comfortable. Individual bedside lamps were a nice touch, and I appreciated having access to streaming services on the TV. Breakfast options included coffee, muffins, and fresh fruit, which were adequate. I also liked that filtered water and ice were available throughout the day. However, I noticed that the front desk isn't staffed from 11 am to 3 pm, which could be inconvenient if you need assistance during that time. The room didn’t have a mini-fridge or a tub, which might not work for families with kids. Kudos to the new owners for turning this place into such a nice property!
